Information for Clients
First, thank you for entrusting me to help you control the tick population on your property. As a Lyme Survivor, I am acutely aware of why folks like you are concerned about the threat ticks pose to people and pets.
ABOUT SUMMIT TICK CONTROL: I am the sole owner and sole operator. That means my name is on every job, as every job is done only by me. There are no employees who are in a hurry to "spray and get to the next job." I take on very few clients (Summit's "family"), and I cater exclusively to them. Whether watching me work through the window or with a camera, you'll see that I take my time and am very thorough treating every square inch of the target areas on your property. I don't rush.
PEST CONTROL: It is a violation of the rules of the Maine Board of Pesticides Control to attempt or promise complete pest eradication. Extinction is never a goal of any legitimate Integrated Pest Management program. What I CAN promise you is an approximate 98% reduction* of the tick population on your property, and all my repeat clients are a testament to the effectiveness of the treatments.
*This is based on an independent study of the product I use by the University of Rhode Island’s Department of Plant Sciences and Entomology.
NOTIFICATION: I will never show up unannounced. I will always contact you (ideally through text) when you are due for an application and advise you of a day and approximate time that l've set aside for you. All I ask is that you respond as soon as reasonably possible, as scheduling can be tight and appointments need to be confirmed promptly so l can in turn schedule other clients. I will not (and cannot) come do the work until I hear back from you. This is to make you aware your property is being treated and allow you to make any preparations necessary (bring pets in, etc). This also puts us on the same page so l'm not coming to spray only to find you have other activity in your yard and I've wasted my time and mixed product for that job.
I try to give as much advanced notice as I can (ideally at least 24 hours, but generally not more than 72 hours as I need an accurate weather forecast to determine if I can spray.)
RE-ENTRY TIME: After an application, please keep all people and pets off the treated area for at least 2 hours, per manufacturer's recommendation (which is the law).
Please avoid allowing any people and pets outside while the application is underway. By law I cannot continue spraying if either are present during the application.
You do not need to be home when I come to treat your property. If you are away during our pre-arranged time of treatment, you will know I was there by the presence of a small lawn sign at the front of your yard, usually by the driveway. This is a legally-mandated sign that is required to be posted for 48 hours after application.
Please feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or concerns. I am extremely responsive to all clients and happy to be of assistance!
